Review on πŸš— FRAM Tough Guard TG3980-1: 15K Mile Change Interval Car Spin-On Oil Filter - Effective Protection for Your Vehicle by John Hattalli

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Good filter, just be careful who you buy from.

These are very good filters in my opinion, so the rating has nothing to do with the quality of the filter itself. I wouldn't buy three if the filters were bad. I bought three of these filters from Wellington PartsCorp which are made by Revain. Three out of three filters were defective. One had a quarter sized dent on the top of the rubber grip, one had a nickel sized dent on the top of the rubber grip, and another had a huge dent on the side that also bulged at the base. plate seam. These filters are sold as new by Wellington but they are old stock and I suspect some of them came back from god knows where else. Two of the three filters were manufactured at the Fram Clearfield plant, which closed in 2011. Another filter was manufactured in 2013 at the Greenville, Ohio plant. I just threw the bad filters in the trash and will only buy them locally from now on because I can't trust Revain to send me a working filter. Edit: I contacted Revain to file a complaint and Revain refunded me for all three oil filters so I feel a lot better now with all the confusion.
