Too short and inelastic to barely add length to belt - unlike the ones I bought last year

I bought a set of these waist extenders last year and I LOVE them. They were easy to put on, easy to fasten, and added just enough waist to my skinny jeans, jean shorts, and capris. As the pair eventually broke (after long use) and because I kept forgetting to take them off before washing, I ordered two more sets - so I can always have enough and share a few with my elderly mother. But the new ones are not the same as the ones I ordered last year although they look the same. CONS: 1. The elastic part of the new ones is so short that it is very difficult to pull them over the buttons on the pants. My mom with knuckle fingers can't do it.2. Because the elastic part is so short, after tightening, the extension button overlaps the button sewn on the pants, making it difficult to button the pants because the button sewn on gets in the way. Again, my mother can't do that.3. Worst of all, the elastic part is so short that it doesn't "give" enough to barely increase my pant size. 1.5-2 inches? Absolutely nothing. I kept the extensions hoping they would loosen up a bit but so far they are gone and my return window has closed. They still add little to the waist of my pants and are still difficult to button. Not sure where all the good reviews are coming from unless they have old ones that still had a decent stretch. .
