Review on White Outlet Wall Mount Holder for 1st Generation Google Home Mini - Space-Saving Accessory for Google Home Mini Voice Assistant - Improved SEO by Stephen Vasquez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Neat and comfortable

Update 10/03/2018: I am correcting my rating by 1 star because I noticed that the design of the wall mount affects the signal reception of the Mini. I've tried this with more than one mini and the results are the same. I'm moving AMORTEK to a different location on my desktop where it's not a problem due to proximity. I replaced the AMORTEK wall mount I used in my garage with another wall mount that isn't as neat but is similar. to solve a pickup problem I had while using AMORTEK. I still find AMORTEK ok, but not as useful as I first thought. ============================================== = === ======= If you're looking to get your Mini out of the way, avoid an exposed cord, or you're short on space, then the Amortek is worth considering. This is an attractive and highly functional alternative to simply place the Mini on a flat surface. I use mine in my garage. It's really easy to use and definitely does what it's designed to do. However, you may need to play around with it a bit to figure out the best way to fit the cable spool and mini into the mount. I finally discovered this by simply winding the cable onto a spool a little smaller in diameter than the mini and putting it in the holder, then plugging in the mini and it all finally fell into place. I don't know if there are instructions for this, but they weren't included with the product I received. I hope that the method I found will work as easily for others as it did for me. There were no surprises with this mount, what you see is what you get. If you install it and leave it together then I think it works well for what it was designed for. However, if you tend to use the mute button, I would make a different choice, as you have to slide the miniplayer out and back every time you want to access the mute button, which can get annoying very quickly. I also suspect that this will eventually wear down the Mini's fabric upholstery from the constant removal and replacement. Also, the plastic isn't hard, I suspect this won't be a problem for most people, it definitely wasn't a problem for me. I bought an Amortek mount to use in my garage just below my TV. I use my garage as a workplace, not just as a parking space for my car. This little mount works great given the setting.

Pros
  • PERFECT CABLE ROUTING. Say goodbye to that long, ugly cord coiled up behind the Mini, it frees up counter space and makes for a much tidier look, while protecting your speaker from potential damage from spills or food splashes.
Cons
  • Good, but not outstanding

Does a great job, but could work even better with some design tweaks.

It does what it does and nothing more.
