Review on Mademax Solar Bird Bath Fountain Pump: 1.4W Upgrade with 4 Nozzle for 🐦 Free Standing Floating Solar Powered Water Fountain in Bird Bath, Garden, Pond, Pool, Outdoor by Demond Clenney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great at first but tricky to clean and keep going at optimal water flow

This was a replacement for a competitor brand. Both come with 4-5 adapters that are easy to snap in at the top to select the type of spray you want, but we have a big box store birdbath with a 12" diameter basin and all but one of the nozzles shoot the water out of the birdbath and drain it dry in about a minute. So, just like our former unit, we have the one that shoots the water up minimally to keep the water in the birdbath. Our other solar powered unit has a permanent plastic filtering opening at the bottom (in the water) for filtering junk that gets in the water and every couple days I had to scrape the opening clean and it worked fine again right away. Easy to do. This unit has openings at the bottom and a brillo-type metal mesh ball inside that is more difficult to clean. So, overall, it's fun to have it, and birds probably appreciate and are attracted to the water spout, as small as it is, and so it's fun to see birds in our birdbath, but it's not the cool spray thru the air unit you might hope for unless you have a larger diameter birdbath.

Pros
  • Includes a protective mesh screen that keeps debris out of the pump and extends the lifespan of the unit
Cons
  • The fountain may not be very efficient in terms of water usage, particularly in areas with drought restrictions.

This won''t flow like an electrical unit. It is strictly run by the sun, solar. If it''s shady it barely pumps, full sun, it goes higher. Mine did not come with suction cups. Adds movement to the water, fun to watch. So far, so good!
