2 loners start an unlikely friendship that improves their lives

About the Movie A Boy tells the story of two loners who meet and end up changing each other's lives for the better. The bottom line is that one of them is an adult, played by Hugh Grant as Will, and the other is a young child, played by Nicholas Hoult, Marcus who is in high school. The film focuses on Marcus and Will trying to help each other because they both need a lot of work. For example, Marcus is a total misfit at school, so Will buys him cool shoes just to have him steal them. Marcus, on the other hand, poses as Will's son so he can pick up a woman named Rachel, played by Rachel Weisz. That makes a cute story. There are also some very funny moments. Marcus performs at the school talent show and everyone boos him when Will jumps on stage with him and helps him finish Robert Flack's Killing Me Softly. The thing is, when Marcus is done, Will goes on singing alone. About a Boy has laughter, romance, character development. In fact, it's like the coming-of-age story of Will and Marcus.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Too long to wait
