Review on Secure Your Gear with Kenneth Cole πŸŽ’ Manhattan Checkpoint Friendly Anti Theft Backpacks and Laptop Backpacks by Allison Utschig

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Ultimately worth mentioning for me.

I moved my review on purpose because I wanted to try with real experience. I felt that the "in a week" rating would not be accurate. First I bought it because I was making the switch from a desktop PC to a laptop for the first time and wanted a good backpack for all my gear. After searching for popular laptop bags for a long time, I settled on this one and decided to give it a try. I wish I could make up my mind before the return deadline as I would not recommend this backpack. But it also depends on your expectations. First Impression: When I saw this bag out of the box, my first reaction was that it was much larger than I expected. If size isn't that important to you, then don't worry. I was hoping for something like the average Jansport backpack in terms of size. It looks and feels much bigger. It's probably because it has a very thick padding. I really need my laptop to feel confident in what it's capable of, but the padding behind the laptop compartment doesn't really bother me. Pros: The pocket/compartment situation is great. It's pretty well organized and makes finding things a lot easier since it's not just spinning around in your backpack. Cons: I like separate compartments, but the large main compartment isn't big enough for my needs. The lunch bag doesn't fit in very well and when I try to put it in, the bag feels like it doubles in size on my back. I probably liked that the least. In addition, it begins to tear at the seams (photo). I would describe my consumption as moderate. I'm definitely not dropping the thing and getting rough with it. Considering how well my previous backpack has held up over the past 10+ years (plain old Jansport) I'm more than a little disappointed that it's already worn out. in summary. If you're comfortable with a backpack that feels too big on your back and tons of padding, then you might like this bag. So far it has stood the test of time and I regret to say that after just under 3 months my expectations are so high that it won't be long. Haven't even tried using it for air travel yet. I'm already in the market for a replacement.
