Needed a shoe that was light and comfortable enough for long walks with the dog on cobblestones but still had good traction on unexpected hikes over rough terrain and they themselves worked great on both accounts. Good ventilation so feet don't heat up and don't sweat. Provides good grip on steep grassy slopes. I wear 9.5D and it fits perfectly.
