Review on 📱 Smartphone App-Enabled RENPHO Digital Food Scale, Ideal for Baking, Cooking, and Coffee, featuring Nutritional Calculator for Keto, Macro, Calorie and Weight Loss, in White by Jessica Sommers

Big scale. The application is good except for the product base.

Great scale for the price. It's accurate and once you get the hang of it, it's easy to use. Meal tracking is done by creating "plates” (of each meal). Once you have logged your food for that meal, click the Confirm button to enter your food in your daily food diary. I see in some reviews that people can't figure out how to add something to a meal when they've already confirmed it. All you have to do is weigh your food, click the add to dish button and then when you go to the plates page set the food as the same food you want to add to. Clicking "Confirm" will simply add that plate to the already existing entry for that dish. You can also enter foods and weights manually if for some reason you can't weigh them. Simply select your food above and then click where the weight is displayed. This allows you to change the weight value as you wish. The app uses the USDA food database, which is not good at all. There are many, many entries that contain incorrect or incomplete information. This seems to be a common problem with many nutrition apps, although this app is a bit worse in this regard. Even My Fitness Pal is overloaded with bogus entries, although they seem to have the best database overall. So it's best to just sit down at the app and add your own entries for the most used products. It will take time, but at least you know that your food information is correct and complete. If you are looking for a food scale with a large and accurate database in place then this scale is not for you but I have not found any scale with such a database. Apps to link to Gennec's nutritional data app, which is also disappointing. I see that Renpho support said they are working on it, but it's been a year and a half since they said it and still nothing. Come on, not that big of a problem, but it would be nice. I also have a Renpho smart bathroom scale. You might think that Renpho forces you to create only one account and your data will work on all your Renpho devices and apps when needed. It doesn't seem to be. You need to create an account for Gennec app (for kitchen scales) and another account for Renpho app for bathroom scales. Apps can't share your weight with each other, which I think is pretty stupid. All in all, these scales are worth their price. That's just a few bucks more than what I paid for my old digital kitchen scale, which didn't have any smart features at all. I've seen references to Renpho scales in several magazine articles, blogs, etc. over the past year, so I'm hoping that as Renpho devices become more popular, their applications will improve. I hope so.
