I have worn NB shoes with motion control and professional orthotics for many years. This was the first pair I had trouble fitting. I wear 9 narrow but when I put on orthotics there was literally not enough room for my foot. I sent them back and went to a shoe store (privately owned by people who understand shoes, not a chain store). The owner confirms the following: These shoes are narrower than in previous years. It's also not as deep as it used to be, the leathers are much deeper. The tongue is shorter BUT when I tried the regular one (vs the narrow one) it wasn't too short. I was able to easily use the last hole to securely fix my heel until the new duo of shoes and insoles worked. I don't recall seeing other reviews mentioning it that way. The laces are a few inches shorter than usual, so be ready to buy another set if the little loops don't work for you. but it's true!), and now they're a more "normal" length, so maybe give them a little time before buying new ones. I saw a review with used/bad boots, it's dirty! . The tags were still on, they were clean and there was no wear. 4 stars as it's a good shoe when I got it to fit (M, not tight).
