They are the same as the plastic ones that came with my clipper of choice. They have two things that set them apart from the originals and make them a major improvement. On the one hand, they are reinforced with metal at the attachment points. Both of my original guides became useless when the little plastic tabs holding them to the clipper head broke. This was the main reason I bought this current set and while I haven't used it for years I don't think the metal mounting clips will be prone to breakage. Another improvement is that the track number is engraved on the metal and is much easier to see than the number on all plastic models. Since my wife cuts my hair, we use it a lot. This is a great improvement and well worth the money.
