I have 3 dogs who want to go outside every hour no matter what and even hunt in the middle of winter when there is nothing. They work well but are easy to lose and need to be chased (doesn't help them run from place to place barking at anything the animal might have) but the velcro stays put if your dog doesn't go crazy over it. The mind is wired to catch something every minute of the day. Doesn't stop dogs from doing their own thing. Protects feet from freezing at temperatures below 0 degrees. Don't hold their paws for more than 2 minutes and I'll take care of them wherever they go. When it was -10 I had to push them forward and they went up within a couple of minutes but at the same temperature they ran into the woods and I had to call them so they got in in 10-15 minutes I am also a backlog, they just forget about me and go around in circles until it's time to come in. They used to not mind the cold but now there are 9 of them and only one will come out and stay no matter how cold it is even at -25 although judging how long they endure on my legs and feel face, don't my feet because I have shoes. They are not waterproof and are made of fleece material. So it's probably not the warmest thing, your feet aren't cold when you go in, but it's easy to dry them on the heater and easy to tell if they're completely dry before going back outside, other types will feel dry. but be wet inside. I don't want to go outside in wet clothes. It's not good for hiking. Rock salt and mud soaked in them. But they go in the snow unmelted/wet so stay dry when outside but get wet when inside and I take them off.
