I'm new to SLR cameras. This is really my first "big" camera and I don't know if I'll ever need an upgrade. I mainly use this for various activities that my school hosts (sports, theatre, congresses, etc.). It has just enough "automatic" features to help you gradually become familiar with photography and basic camera functions. I've read a few articles on how and what the best lenses would be but they're not really necessary, you can really just open this up and start taking sharp pictures (I used my camera on my phone and after I got this I can never go back). I bought a lens that I recommend to everyone, it's the Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR Nikkor Zoom Lens for Nikon DSLRs. This is great for all those action shots that you never could have taken before (hockey, basketball, etc.), all really good photos.
