Review on 🧱 Powerful and Efficient U.S. Pumice Scouring Brick for Lime Neutral Cleaning, 6" X 2-3/4" X 2-3/4 by Robert Patton

Good cleaning stone

For those who don't know, natural pumice is a volcanic rock. Erupted from volcanoes, the rock contains hot volcanic gases trapped within. On cooling it becomes a very light porous material with an abrasive texture. Surprisingly, some species can even swim on water. This product is an artificial strain. The brick is unexpectedly large, almost the size of an ordinary brick. Gray in color, it is very similar in texture to very light concrete. When lowered, it makes a "tinkling" sound identical to the sound of concrete. As an abrasive, it is very effective. I bought mine to remove limescale from the toilet. Does not appear to damage hard-paste porcelain surfaces. I was surprised at how quickly it wore out with use. My task may require a second stone. I needed a smaller rock to get into tighter spaces, so I tried breaking the rock into smaller pieces with a hammer and screwdriver. It works, but it takes time and effort. I've found the smaller pumice "sticks" available at hardware stores to be cheaper than Revain, but if you need a large block of material this is probably the place to find it.
