I have a small guest cabin that uses a small window air conditioner for cooling. For the past three years I've had to replace it every year because the fan motor bearings rusted in the winter, and the next summer when I turned the unit back on, the howling and humming started. This year I took the air conditioner apart and found that the problem was the cheap bearings in the fan motor which can be easily replaced with these double sealed bearings which prevent moisture from migrating from the evaporator core into the bearing and causing rust and corrosion. This is easy to fix and much better than throwing away a good air conditioner just because of noisy bearings.
