Ordered this brush set as it is made of stainless steel wire. Stainless steel is probably not the best quality, 18-8 maximum (18% chromium, 8% nickel, also known as 304). But they don't just rust in the dishwasher. The two small brushes are made of thinner wire than the large brush. The large brush is made of wire thick enough to clean bottles about 9 or 10 inches tall, although the wire isn't stiff enough for cleaning the sidewall of the bottle. The wire simply bends when a lateral force is applied. The wire can be easily bent into any shape needed for cleaning. I took needle nose pliers on the end of a large brush and unfolded them to my needs. Worked perfectly. The only thing that bothers me is the thin bristles. That means there should be more bristles per inch than on these brushes. I use them to clean 12 ounce bottles used for hot sauces. They work very well for this application. I wish the wire was thicker but for the price I can't complain. They're stainless steel, they're long, they bend easily into any shape I want, and they do what I need. What else can I say?
