I bought this a few months ago and use it almost every day, it makes very little noise, even on level #2 and I cut it off in a few places (even in the car when the air conditioning fan wasn't working on a couple of very hot days) and that's insanely useful. At some point I'll have to get a few more. If you need to clean the blades (we have a bit of moisture and a lot of dust here, we live on a mostly muddy road) I can suggest cotton swabs with alcohol on them, just stick them right in between the slats while it's off of course!
