Review on 📻 Sangean RCR-9 AM/FM-RDS Digital Tuning Atomic Clock Radio (Black) – Unparalleled Precision and Crisp Sound by Joyce Wright

Bought this clock from Revain in December 2013. They had three important features: a face that was easy to see when lying in bed , an alarm clock that only allowed sound programming on weekdays, and a black finish. I previously bought a Sangean CL-100 weather alarm clock which offered a programmable alarm but showed the time from above making it impossible to see the time from bed. I've reviewed many clock radios that made it easy to tell the time, but they were all cheap and rang at the same time every day, including weekends. At the time, Sangean offered several models with the first two key features, but only the Sangean RCR-9 had a black finish, so it looked like the perfect choice. As others have reported, I wasn't able to get the atomic clock feature that sets the time automatically to work, but setting the time manually worked fine for me. During the first year of the warranty period, the watch worked perfectly. But in early 2015, just after the warranty expired, the dial stopped working; always displayed the same. Shortly after that he started working independently again, so I was happy again. In mid-2015, however, the dial stopped again. The digital time shown above still works well, as does the alarm clock. Six months later, the dial remains frozen. Tried "restart", disconnecting (for a few hours) and then reconnecting the watch; without change. Also, I contacted Sangean customer service to find a solution. They didn't. Of course I would have to send it in for repair and, since the warranty has expired, pay for it. With an expensive clock radio like the RCR-9, failure just after the warranty has expired is unforgivable. So this is the last Sangean product I will buy.
