Review on Canon PowerShot ELPH 360 Digital Camera W/ 12X Optical Zoom And Image Stabilization - Wi-Fi &Amp by Samiran Pusarla

Revainrating 5 out of 5

STILL the best value for money in compact shooting!

From day one it does what it has to do. This is my third Canon ELPH, previous models were 110 HS and 330 HS. There is no noticeable difference in image quality compared to my 330. Zoom has been greatly improved and has slightly better image stabilization compared to 330. MP4 has replaced the outdated MOV format for videos. I'm NOT a camera tech and I don't use half of this camera's features, but I know a good picture when I see it and one of the main things that impresses me about the ELPH range is how great photos and videos look when it is displayed on a big TV screen. This is a test for me. I bought other models that didn't work and were returned. It's true that many cell phones these days take GREAT photos and videos, but you won't find the zoom that zooms and captures. On holiday I have to say that 50% of my shots are taken with a zoom lens. Real cameras are still relevant in today's mobile-centric world (at least for now). The REAL reason I updated this workaround (my 330 works great) was because Canon FINALLY made MP4 the format for 360 video. While previous versions captured great HD video, you have no idea how frustrating it was it is to stream video to your phone and convert it from MOV format first! Format conversion always comes with a loss of quality, and I've never understood why Apple's format should be standard on non-Apple devices. MOV is an older format and MP4 is superior and can be played on almost any PC or Android device. Nibble. this model has a thinner battery/card door and with the wifi function i had to use the 'manual' steps to do this as the 'automatic' function detects the device but does not connect. not such a big deal, but it would be nice if it could connect to devices as easily as cell phones do these days. Point and Shoot category. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be on my third model in the line. My first ELPH (110HS) still works great after 5 years, the only reason I'm upgrading is for improved features. I cannot recommend this camera enough. She is gorgeous. Good advice when buying a suitcase. Look for a hard/semi-hard clamshell case. My ELPHs look and perform flawlessly even after years of use as they are well protected when worn or not in use. Pouch cases don't protect your camera from bumps or accidental drops, which I've experienced many times, and have had no side effects due to the superior protection of shell cases. Update 4-24-16 Just returned from a trip to Vegas where this camera was used extensively. My nose bled at the T-Mobile Arena Guns n Roses concert. My 1080p phone camera couldn't capture the action because the low light filter didn't work when zoomed in (all it could capture at full zoom was a blurry mess). I was able to shoot videos sharp enough to actually capture facial expressions with my HS 360 in zoom mode. GREAT video of some of the worst seating in the 40,000 seat arena. How can you top that with an ultra-compact point and shoot? When shooting in Full HD, I got about 45 minutes of battery life (I took 2 extra). Ability to shoot in low light is MUCH better than my Note 4 camera. DAY.my phone takes great photos and videos. I'm glad I had this camera with me. If you're taking photos, you can count on 300+ battery life. Video, about 45-60 minutes. Extra batteries are cheap and swap out fairly quickly on long shoots. You are worth your money.
