Wife insisted this would solve the problem of dry hair so ok no problem but the first time you change the filter cartridge it doesn't come loose. I followed the installation instructions and oiled it. But it wouldn't resolve. Thought of water deposits on the threads, so sprayed with Blaster Penetrant. I used my giant channel lock pliers and a large strap wrench which was difficult to equalize but eventually got the job done. I've also tried tapping it down like a stuck glass to break the seal. It's plastic so you had to be careful not to break it and it was starting to scar from my pliers. Finally after 30 minutes it came loose and I was able to open it. I think the gasket held it in place as water didn't collect on the threads. I have a tube of magic Teflon PTFE grease that is used to lubricate o-rings on pool equipment. Now I'm assembled again and my wife is in the shower. In another 6 months I will know if the fat is helping or just bad design.
