A pot bottom lid or a good Fancy Rats chew toy?

This is a weekly issue for our family but I'm still willing to do it. Our fancy rats smelled awful. I mean awful. As with most pets, as a mother, I now have to take care of them. I researched why they smell so bad and came to the conclusion that maybe I'm keeping the cage too clean. I've also read that fleece can absorb their smell and make them more comfortable so they're less likely to leave an odor. So I added fleece to the bottom of the Critter Nation cage and made a harness insert. The other two shelves are empty and I wipe them down with a mixture of water and vinegar almost every day. Our odor problem is as good as gone. Detailed product information. This fleece is a good comfortable size. Having bought it 20 times already, I can speak well about it. It has velcro on one end. It's nice when you put on a fresh new one - like new socks. You can make purple or blue bigger. I alternate colors but always try to use a contrasting color on the ramp to avoid accidents. (We've had rats before.) You can wash them in the washing machine, but I'd rather not because they're gross when stripped. It also goes well with the wobbly ground rails that Critter Nation sells. It comes in a sturdy plastic bag with a snap closure, almost like bedding, so it's really easy to take out and use right away. Why buy so many? This thing gnaws a hole in 1 day. It must be tasty or something. If your rats chew like our little stinkers, be prepared to buy them often or find something else. My two "fancy" street rats hide under the liner and have a "fight club". I often hear someone creaking. Although they can opt out whenever they want. We've never had a problem with a rat getting stuck under the liner because it ate a hole through it. My conclusion: I like this product very much. I want this to last longer. To be honest I think it gets chewed up no matter how thick the fleece was. As for me, I'm willing to spend money on a problem to make it easier, less inconvenient, and time-saving. These "disposable" liners work for us.
