Great sound but missing features and low noise

Update 06/21/21: ** Do not buy. The audio cuts out quite often in any active programs that are currently using the headset when it decides to stop running. this. YouTube in Chrome, the sound has stopped working, but you can go into Windows or the game and the sound will work fine. Closing the program or disconnecting the Xmitter and reconnecting fixes this. The range is terrible. I can't reliably reach my kitchen 15 feet away with only drywall in between - 2 sheets of drywall and 2x4 studs. That's all - no steel, no electrics, no appliances. When it reaches the maximum range, it pops and clicks loudly - well above the volume you set - tearing your ears out. ANY fault is suspected. Does the microwave work in the kitchen? Well, cut the range in half and even standing next to the microwave, then very loud pops and clicks - a thunderstorm in your ears - again at a much higher volume than your setting - will rip your ears apart. These are the most expensive headphones I've ever put my hands on and they sound really great and set up, while a bit different from scanning your ears, was fairly easy, but there are a few issues with the headset. It's cumbersome to use for conference calls or chats because the feature is, for example, microphone mute - it mutes all audio, to "mute" the voice. So you completely miss everything that was said in those 2-3 seconds. Sounds trivial until you realize how often you use it during conferences. My 6 year old Jabra headset easily has 5x the range, same battery life, never turns off, costs about the same and is much less prone to jamming and handles it MUCH better. So I went back to work with them and SXFI just sits at the gaming computer. At least the nagging hasn't returned and for the most part it works fine as long as I stay within 5ft of my computer. So much for wireless and listening on the go. house.**TL;DR below.CONS:1. Driver skills are limited. Every wireless headphone I've owned even the cheap ones at $60 have an auto shut off feature. Although probably it's not a big deal for people, I use them not only for gaming but also for work and video. I often wear them without play and they always go out after 10 minutes. For my use case I want it to be longer or configurable. 2. The on/off beep is very loud, easily 2-3 times the volume I'm hearing right now. While you might think it doesn't matter much if it frequently disables and then re-enables BEEP due to the auto-disable feature mentioned above, it worries me particularly badly.3. That's the biggest thing - constant low whining. There is ALWAYS a constant hum. I've never had that with any other headset. It only comes out of the left earcup. This gets pretty annoying after a while and I find it disappointing for a $200 headset that is supposed to offer great audio quality. ADVANTAGES: 1. The sound in games and videos is excellent. These headphones do NOT boom even when the bass is set to the highest level. So if you want your ears to be banging then don't, which is fine, I prefer better sound to overpowering bass or treble.2. The battery life is excellent. Easily lasts all day and charges quickly.3. weight and soundproofing. The earphones are not very heavy and fit well. The ear cups block most of the background noise, so you are well isolated from background noise or annoying noise. I wished, the ear cups would be more breathable as they get hot from your ears. I've contacted Creative many times and I'm still in the tech support cycle, but the bottom line is, what I'm getting from them is that whining and the other issues mentioned above are normal. It's a shame as much cheaper headsets didn't have these issues or had a lot more features. Even my old WOW SoundBlaster headphones had way more features and settings, it's strange their new products keep getting cheaper. 20 UPDATE: The hum increases and changes in frequency and volume. Creative says it's okay; It can not be. It's loud enough to drown out quiet scenes. I tried watching A Quiet Place with them just to see what would happen. Yes, for most of the film, the howl was equal to or greater than the background film. I requested a replacement while waiting for a response. Update 9/11/20: After 3 weeks of contacting support, they refuse to pre-send a replacement even after CC# suggested saving it to a file. I explained that I also use them daily for my work as I work from home and can't live without a headset. So now I have to buy another headset so I can send it back. Why should I buy Creative again? (Changed to 1 star) Update 12/01/20: After contacting the manager through the Singapore office (I could only find one email that would reach a real person and NOT from tech support refusing to solving my problem or working with me ANY way), he connected me to another person for support. They sent a replacement with no problem and I boxed and sent the old headset back within 1 hour of receiving the new one. So easy; Why did it take almost 3 weeks? that I also use it daily for my work, since I work at home and cannot live without a headset. So now I have to buy another headset so I can send it back. Why should I buy Creative again?
