I use these spoons for a few things on the go, like frothing my coffee or eating yogurt at work. You're more than strong enough for this. I don't know if they're up to the task of scooping hard ice. Importantly, they have the texture (and taste!) of an old-fashioned tongue depressor. They won't give you shards, but you'll know for sure that you're eating wood. They also have very flat shells. Eating soup with them wouldn't be the best choice. But as long as you know what you're getting I think these are great spoons.
