Disclaimer - I'm not a runner so unfortunately I can't comment much on how this belt holds up when running. However, I am a hiker and this belt was bought primarily for walking and hiking. Overall I really like this belt. I usually like to carry the bag around and it fits quite comfortably around my waist and back. If I were wearing a jacket you wouldn't even notice the bulge under the jacket. When I go out at night there is a reflective tape around the zipper and some reflective strips on the side. The hip belt is slightly smaller than usual. This strap fits me perfectly, but it may not fit women with a waist size larger than a 6. The strap may stretch, but I think the more it stretches, the more uncomfortable it becomes for the wearer. The case itself also stretches a bit and fits my phone very well. There is another pocket in the zip (probably suitable for an ID card or similar). That inner pocket is a bit flimsy though and can sometimes get in the way when trying to put my phone back into the large pocket. If someone is picky about getting their phone out of their pocket quickly and easily, this can be a problem. However, if your goal is to simply keep your phone close and comfortable while running or walking, this case is perfect. One last thing, this bag doubles as a travel bag as well. He holds my passport perfectly. Since it nestles so comfortably against the body, I think it's great if you want to hide valuables under your clothes on vacation.
