Review on ๐Ÿงญ ChargerCity Replacement Windshield Suction Mount for Magellan Roadmate GPS - Model Compatibility and Replacement" by David Lamfers

Solid replacement windshield mount

I've had a GPS (dinosaurs by today's standards) for about three years. The original mount that I bought with the device is worn out. The ball and socket failed to hold up as the rubber around the ball entering the sockets began to break. I ended up using rubber bands to attach the GPS to the windshield mount, which was pretty much useless. It's time to upgrade to a new GPS or buy a new window mount. It cost $150 to buy a comparable GPS, so I opted for a window mount. I've only had this mount for a few days but it does what it's supposed to do, it keeps my GPS on the windshield. Still, I thought of speaking to other users about the device falling off the windshield. I find it extremely important to use window cleaner on the windshield where the suction cup is to be placed and also to wipe the suction cup itself with a clean cloth. Then, when both are dry, the mount literally lasts for months (like my experience with other suction cup mounts). If there is even a bit of dirt or debris of any kind on the cutting tray or window, it will fall off.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Updates available
