Review on TrailHeads Touchscreen Quilted Insulated Protection by Ryan Vaughn

Really impressed so far, my fingers stay warm when I'm running in the cold!

I've been looking for really good running gloves for a number of years. I don't know if my running form with my arms tight at my sides is causing poor circulation in my fingers or if my hands are very sensitive to cold. I struggled to keep my fingers and thumb warm when it hits 20 seconds and when I run more than 2 or 3 miles at a time. I bought several pairs of gloves, including some fancy "runner gloves". I've used hand warmers with some success, but I always forget to take them with me and get frustrated because I buy a big box from Costco, but they're only good for a few months. Anyway, I finally realized that mittens can be better than gloves. Putting your fingers together instead of apart may improve circulation. I can't imagine why it took me so long to come up with this idea! These mittens are a bit pricey but have not disappointed so far. The first day I ran in them (assuming it was around 30, so not too cold) my hands actually got a bit sweaty, they were so warm. I've been using them for a few weeks and they're great. Haven't had the chance to use them on longer runs (6-8+ miles) in very cold weather but I think they will hold up and they are also better suited to using heating pads inside than gloves, although I do use them not had to do yet. **UPDATE: I've been in the Midwest running in the single digits and the cold wind made it even colder and they still worked GREAT. Definitely a MUST for runners with cold hands!

Pros
  • DOUBLE-LAYER FABRIC - Soft, matte fabric on the inside of the palm with a double layer to retain heat. The fabric of our women's mittens wicks moisture away from the palm, keeping your hands dry.
Cons
  • Short manual
