As the title says it does exactly what it says on the tin. In the past we've used ultrasonics (dust everywhere), evaporative wicks (failed wicks), etc. We got this because our previous house had an entire house system that used the same technology, which was spinning discs. Works well within the limited space it is designed for. Maintains humidity exactly where it should be and measures it independently with a laboratory hygrometer. If you can put up with the high price for a basic device, it does the job really well. Negative, expensive, blindingly bright display. The display can be dimmed, but should be able to be switched off easily at certain times. Okay, I hate lights at night, that's one of the reasons I moved to remote areas. Nevertheless, with the exception of small disadvantages, it is highly recommended.
