If you want noise canceling headphones without music, I don't recommend them. While I'm not sure how many people expect exactly that from headphones, I'll mention it. But let me tell you, when I was in a noisy car I could only hear my music when I had the noise canceling on, plus my own music coming through the headphones, which was a nice experience. I got ANC versus average because it helps me when I'm having panic attacks or just plain depressed. I want to block out any noise that I haven't called and this definitely helps with that. I also really like the sound quality and the ability to add or remove bass helps a lot. You can even enable ambient noise mode, which makes it easier to hear your surroundings while listening to music, for example, or during a group call, but still want to hear someone in the same room as you. The personalized audio seems to work well, but I think it's more of a bonus than a necessity for my needs. I'm not particularly picky about sound quality, but I have my own taste and I like headphones. I will say that they are a bit heavy. It took me some time to get used to it. The battery life is impressive, as is the charging speed. All in all I don't regret the purchase and I really love these headphones.
