You can really sit on it, even if it works.

No costs for assembly, folding, placing the insert on the floor and putting on the lid. When you're done, it looks like a beautiful footstool. I bought this to put my grandkids toys in it and it keeps my house in good condition when they leave without taking the toys out of the room. Looks the same as in the picture.
