I have one and I also have a First Alert water alarm. I like it better because it sits low to the ground and is difficult to tip over. I usually find the First Alert toppled over because something bumped into it. Both alarm clocks work the same way and react to the slightest amount of water. The Honeywell alarm will beep three times (about once per second), followed by about three seconds of silence, and then a few more beeps until it's out of the water. I can hear it from about one floor up, but it's not loud enough to wake you up if it's in the basement and you're on the second floor. The first alarm is a constant screeching, but not much louder. I use this for our sump pump and I have another alarm for our water heater. It is approximately 1.25 inches high and 3.25 inches in diameter. I paid about eight hundred and fifty for it. This requires a 9V battery, which is not included in the scope of delivery.
