I love my oiler! I used to store butter in the fridge where it got too hard. Even when I got a new refrigerator with separate temperature controls for butter storage, the butter was still too hard and therefore difficult to spread on toast and almost impossible to spread on bread or crackers. Now my butter stays fresh and is the perfect consistency to spread on bread or toast - never too hard or too soft. It's also nice to be able to store butter where I need it, on the counter next to the toaster. In addition, the pot looks beautiful. The way the jar works is that you use a plastic spatula to fill the top with room temperature oil and then pour enough water into the bottom of the jar to cover the oil. That's all. This jug is a simple and elegant solution to the oil problem.
