FAILURE IN COMPLETE ASSEMBLY; Spirals are flat not round and shaped

Pretty surprised by all the rave reviews for this product. Wondering if some of them are paid reviews? I bought this to eat more veggies and to replace some of the zucchini noodles and zucchini. Somewhat unimpressed by his performance. For some reason, as I watched video after video, I thought the shape of the "spirals" would be round, probably due to the numerous descriptions and references pointing to the shape of angel hair and spaghetti. But they are flat like fettuccine, not round. While I can't get nice long spirals, as the video shows, I end up with short curved pieces instead. Maybe it gets better with practice. Although I'm not sure I want to practice. I don't like kitchen appliances that need to be learned! A more serious problem for users is that the spiralizer is not particularly robust when assembled. I suppose to make it compact the manufacturers created half a dozen parts that you have to assemble to use it. Fair enough once you figure it out (no assembly instructions included). But the fit of the various parts is a bit loose and a little sloppy, causing the handle to fall off unless you're actively pushing or twisting it. The suction cups work well enough to keep it stable, but at some point during the process they invariably slip and the whole thing slides. I've tried both dry vacuuming and wiping the cups with a damp cloth before pressing them down (which works better), but they still come loose at least once per veg. The blades seem sharp enough, but you have to use a little force when pushing the veggies into the blades. You can't just turn the knob. And I found that if I didn't want it to move as I spiraled, I had to keep one hand pressed on the base, stopping every few turns to make room on the platter for the spirals to fall . This machine works best. for three hands. I haven't decided yet whether I'll come back or not.

Pros
