The paint job is done

In general, I really liked this marker. I used it to write a valentine on a plain white mug. I have Bed Bath & Beyond. After reading a few reviews about strips etc I struggled to follow the directions exactly. I shook the pen vigorously and first tested it on cardboard to see if the paint would flow. I had no issues with color streaks when using it, but I had almost the exact opposite issue. So much paint came out that there were puddles and since I was writing on a mug the pages were very crooked and I had to do the project in parts so the puddles were dry enough so they didn't come loose and drip down. Pages. I let it dry for 24 hours and then baked it at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. The cup looked great. Because I used so much paint, I didn't have the transparency issues some people mentioned, although I could see it could happen if I didn't use a lot of paint. After using it once, I washed it in the top rack of the dishwasher as usual. When I took it out and dried the rest of the water, part of the paint - in one of the "puddles" appeared to be a bit smudged. It didn't go as far as showing a visible blemish outside of the color fringes, but that area isn't as smooth and glossy as it was originally. I noticed it, but I don't think anyone else would have noticed if they hadn't looked for it. From what has been said, I think I would be more careful with my process and careful not to use as much paint. After all, this is my first time writing on ceramic or porcelain with a similar product, so I think my problems are just rookie mistakes.
