My daughter bought this for me for Christmas and I love it! Of course, this isn't the best device, but it does its job perfectly.1. Make sure you read the instructions. I skimmed them and couldn't figure out why it didn't warm up to begin with. First you need to set the temperature. It should be at least "min". I saw a review that said the waffle maker was on but never got hot. It turns on and lights up, but you have to turn the knob for it to actually heat up.2. I know it's not that healthy, but I seasoned the pan with vegetable oil instead of cooking spray. If you like crispier waffle edges, use butter.3. My first waffle I just mined and was a little softer than what I prefer. I was so hungry I just ate it and it was amazing! Raised the temperature for the second waffle, I turned the knob halfway between the minimum and maximum and it came out perfect.5. I think it's definitely a great value and depending on how you like your waffles it can take a few times to find the ideal temperature and cooking time. It doesn't have a timer, so you'll have to keep an eye on it. According to the instructions, the waffles are done when no more steam rises. I found that exactly.6. I've seen complaints about it not having a timer, but I didn't really care. I'm used to cooking and don't use a timer the other days I cook, so not having a waffle maker isn't a problem. Cooking is a skill that can be learned. So if cooking isn't your thing and you're looking for something easy, I would suggest getting frozen waffles! π
