I have tried other means of cutting the wire harness nylon sleeves and then melting the ends with a lighter. This tip works much better! It's fast and makes a really clean cut with closed ends. My soldering iron is Weller 6200; They say it will work with this pistol and it will, but be aware that the "legs" are probably steel and it's quite difficult to bend them 90 degrees to fit them on a 6200 pistol to use. I think he designed them for use with a gun that has screws that hold the tips in place rather than the hollow "nuts" found on many soldering guns.
