I have lived in my home for 19 years and over the years numerous neighbors have come and gone. I'm not a big fan of expansive window treatments, I don't particularly like curtains, and I don't like blinds or curtains, and I definitely don't like using combinations of the two. However, by the window I use just enough to provide privacy, but during the day I really like it when natural sunlight streams into the room. So I usually open the curtains to let the light come in and I can see the street. However, I have increasingly sought to make my windows semi-private during the day and this product easily met that need. It's a pretty decent movie. It comes rolled up and has a transparent protective film covering the surface that is applied to the window surface. My only complaint is that there are no measurement markings on this clear screen protector. So if you need to crop the slide to a specific size, you need to draw a line across it. Other similar products that I have used are marked with recommendations. It takes some effort to separate the clear backing from the film, but using "two strips of tape" seems to work best, but requires trial and error. The film application side feels a little sticky but not sticky. After the backing was removed, I sprayed the adhesive side of the film liberally with water with some car wash soap and also sprayed onto the windshield, spreading the water evenly over the entire surface. Window. After flattening the foil, I simply used a large rubber squeegee to squeeze the water top to bottom and side to side. I had virtually no blisters and the app looked great. I can also confirm that the foil is easy to remove. Unfortunately, the second time I used it, some of my cat hair got on the foil. I removed the film, then removed the hair, then resprayed the surfaces to reapply. Initially, this seemed to distort the film and almost create a "cloudiness". At first I was concerned and disappointed, but based on the location of the window I decided that looks weren't of the utmost importance. Surprisingly, however, the haze disappeared within two days and the film became clear again. So my guess is that the heat from the sun on the window eliminated the problem. If that happens, I wouldn't immediately panic. It is nice that the film does not fall off. It stays attached to the window. Corners aren't slow to loosen, and overall it offers a clean and unified look. I am very pleased with how easy it is to install and how well it sticks. It definitely offers all-day privacy protection. During the day it is almost impossible to look out the window. I checked with the man standing right outside the window and didn't see him at all. If you approach the window and there is enough light in the room, you can probably see in, but at that moment it will be obvious that someone is looking directly out of the window. It also significantly reduces light intensity. Sunlight comes through the window. I would say it's a 75% reduction. It provides a good light filter and also reduces heat transfer into the house. I noticed this on the bedroom window on the second floor, where I only attached the film to the bottom of the window. Early morning sunlight that falls through the lower window and hits the ground is significantly filtered through the film, reduced in intensity and warmth compared to sunlight that falls through the upper window pane. My cat would approve of filtered light. It doesn't seem to bother her. She will still curl up in the sunlight, although it's filtered and the heat isn't as intense. I liked it so much that I ordered three more rolls to mount on more windows. I think this is a great product that does exactly what it says it will. I recommend it.
