Before I explain this review, there is one important note to make first. I am disabled, in 2017 I had to retire at the age of 40. Lucky for me I was able to do it. One of my main concerns is swelling, and yes, in my hands. So I was retired and couldn't do a lot of things I liked. So I decided that I would start writing again for my creative outlet. This started my long search for the right keyboard. Now for the review. I've searched and spent too much money looking for the right keyboard for me. i am not a player I mainly write and use graphical applications. I quickly realized that chiclet-style keyboards wouldn't work. They are stiff because they are against the back wall. It would cause me physical problems if I used it for more than an hour or so at a time. So after some pain and at least 4 different "high quality" keyboards I had to keep looking. These keyboards are now part of my keyboard drawer. Then came the mechanics, okay, it was a nightmare! I started with Razor and Corsair. My first switch was blue and soon it stopped working. The actuation length was just too long for me to really know I pressed the button, I had to keep it to a minimum. Remember that I am handicapped and therefore have no dexterity in my fingers. They're not 100% deaf, but enough that I didn't have any tactile outbursts from the switch. So the hunter and MK2 visited the burial box. I then looked for a low-profile model, thinking maybe the response length was the problem. I even experimented with membrane keyboards again. The Ornata didn’t have the same problem with flex and hard tail hitting. MK2 Low Profile with red switch and it was a hard no. Actuation wasn't too bad as I felt the pressure required to turn on the switch and banged against the backplate. I also tried some other brands like the low profile Redragon and 3 other brown switch keyboards. Before I was judged, this process took a little over 2 years. I would try different palm rests and form factors. All in all I bought 11 keyboards and have them in my drawer now, probably $1200 or so down the drain. The way I've survived and written so far is what I call the keyboard carousel. I use one keyboard and switch to another when it hurts. So I change at least once a day, but mostly twice. Remember that I write a lot and use my graphic applications. Usually 4 to 6 hours a day, sometimes 12 as my pain keeps me from sleeping. I came across Elite 2 earlier this week. So I ordered it and it arrived yesterday afternoon. First impression - it's a beast. Well built and heavy, which I like because I've had keyboards sliding all over me from dropping them so hard. Connected and turned on. The lighting was beautiful. See, RGB doesn't add anything physically to the input, of course. But it adds something more important. I believe it brings sunshine and more importantly inspiration. There's something science can paint in the face, it can help with creativity, and it can help you relax. So I was very satisfied with the excellent whiteboard lighting. Hands down is the best I've seen so far. Now the most important part. These switches are like butter on my fingers, they're smooth and soft enough that I don't feel any pain. The keys are a little further apart so it's going to take a while but gosh it's nice. You are just perfect for me. The first day I used the keyboard for almost 10 hours. and felt no pain when pressing the keys. The response was overwhelming and the travel distance perfect. The pressure required to actuate the switch was light and the drag was perfectly balanced with excellent back pressure. To be honest, this has been the most comfortable typing experience I've had since I got sick. HyperX, you convinced me with this product and I want to thank you for that. This keyboard was made for me and that's all I can say. I combined this purchase with the HyperX wrist rest and it was a good choice. The combined experience was even better. The rest matched the height and width of the board perfectly and was supportive but not stiff, great product.
