Review on Asolo Mens TPS Chestnut Boot Outdoor Recreation by Joshua Paulson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The fit and support are second to none, as was the last pair. Hope to live fewer miles/years

Bought a pair of these in 2007 and they just expired and fell apart. I also had extra laces to tie my soles with, but luckily this was at the very end of a not-too-long hike, so I dropped to the exit. Initially I was annoyed and annoyed that you can't just reflash them. I was about to reorder when I read all the reviews saying less than a year later and poor customer support. After looking around a bit, I ordered a pair of Danner Mtn Light IIs that can be rebuilt. THE WORST EVER GOES. They were great on the climb but on the way back they dug into my ankle from behind leaving blisters and bruises on both legs, right next to my Achilles tendon. Really unlucky, and as much as I hate not being able to rebuild these Asolos, I'm not going to muddle through with the Danners until they break (or they break me). I couldn't remember what it was like to break into Asolo because 14 years is a long time but I was sure I would remember if it was really awkward. I also started thinking about the insane amount of miles and feet I've ridden in these boots and how much I loved them to the point of the business. Of course it's frustrating to think of all the much worse spots they could have chipped on me, but to be honest the tread blocks were already worn down to the brink and should have been replaced at least a few years earlier. So I took a chance and ordered another pair of these Asolos. Somehow they seem broken in, they are just perfect, but also with solid lateral support that makes it worth carrying such a weight on your feet. Even if I get at least a fifth of the use from them that I got from the previous pair, they're still fantastic value for money. As for the other issues with cases, I don't think I believe Asolo's argument that regular use is somehow beneficial. Glue lasts longer. It also raises some concerns about quality, durability, and the company's willingness to receive what should be a premium product. Common sense dictates that the more you pull and flex the adhesive, the faster it will fail. But what do I know? I'm not an engineer and definitely used up my last pair, so I'm sure Asolo would say I'm proof that regular use extends the life of the adhesive. If I get a Delam next year I will definitely be updating it with a MUCH lower score. So far I'm very happy with these boots and hopefully I'll have as much luck with this pair as I did with the previous one." Jade's husband
