I have been using these for about a month and basically like the cube mold, but not the sphere mold.Regarding the big cube mold:I would give these 4/5 stars. I basically like these and they work for me. It is a pity that the bottoms are somewhat bezeled instead of perfectly square. I think the picture doesn't really show this, but it does make a difference to the aesthetic which is unfortunate. They are okay, however, and they are a good size for a typical old fashioned-type glass.Regarding the "big" sphere mold:These *can* produce sphere shaped ice with a lot of work, however they are not very large and not as well designed as I had hoped. These deserve 1 or 2 stars at most.It is hard to pour water into the little holes on top, and then the two halves wont really stay together once water is in them so it will leak all over. I have to hold down the mold with both hands while filling up the mold with both of my other hands and then hope they don't come apart in the freezer.Once the ice is done, they invariably need to be topped off to complete the shape on top and refrozen, then some leakage will have produced a ring around each so they all look like a little Saturn-shaped ice. My process is then to turn on some hot water and slowly turn each sphere under the water carefully trimming off each ring without losing ice otherwise. At the end of this I get a nice sphere shaped piece of ice, but which is wet on the outside, so if I stick them in my ice tray they will stick together and no longer be nice looking. My fix for this has been to put them each back in their little tray and freeze for a third time, for just about an hour, at which point I am finally able to put them away for later use in cocktails. After all of this work, I get six little 1.25" spheres, which do look nice, and if I want more, I have to repeat the whole damn process. It also goes without saying that since there is a lot of touching the cubes involved, one has to wash one's hands to stay sanitary at each step, and a lot of waiting is involved between each.I really can't recommend these and it seems like it would have been so much better to have a hard plastic frame with a clip that goes around these to really hold it in place and prevent all these issues. Maybe such a thing exists elsewhere.-- Tom
