I'm walking on the street. I don't think they would be suitable for trail running. I'm landing on the midsole so I don't know how it will be for someone landing on the heel or ball of the foot. I've dealt with plantar fasciitis in the past and didn't get a discount on wearing it. I also have weak ankles, but I've never sprained my ankle in it. I don't run more than 10 km at a time. I have driven them about 200 miles and they are still in fantastic condition. They are responsive and lightweight. I know people are put off by the initial wear of the outsole, but in my experience it doesn't wear out at the same rate. If that were the case, mine still wouldn't look like this. The protector would disappear. The upper is tight, which I know people don't always like. In my experience Nike Flyknit has to be a little tight or it will chafe. Even if you want to walk without socks, the flycatcher is not your friend. Socks that cover any areas where shoes can rub are the way to go. I love the jersey and find it stretches with the foot and is very breathable which is fantastic in warmer climates (Southeast Texas which is where I am for example).
