I'm not a stylist - I used them for sewing instead. When ironing open seams and creases, my fingers get uncomfortably close to the top of the steam iron. I've steamed my fingers more than once. I've tried several solutions including full steamer gloves. Nothing gave me both good protection and decent mobility. These tips did it! The fit was good - not tight/loose and just the right length! You can't tell you touch the bottom of the iron and leave your fingers there, but they have enough heat resistance for quick bursts of steam and let me keep small seams open for quilting and sewing to iron.
