Bought these shoes a size 5/6 for my 5 year old son. He's skinny, about 45 inches tall, and these fit him really well. He has a small waist and I was afraid they would be too big and fall off, but they fit him perfectly! They're a bit long, but not so long that he trips over them, especially in his winter boots. They should be enough for next year's winter, which is exactly what I wanted. They are not adjustable but have good stretch on both sides of the waist. However, if your child is fairly vigorous, I would not recommend them. They didn't seem to have much insulation to me and the quality seemed that way, but they worked great for my son in the 34 degree weather. Can't tell if they were or not, it works in colder temps but he did, they were hot them and he said they were comfortable. He played in the snow for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours and ended up getting his pants wet but when I took them off I was pleasantly surprised as he was perfectly dry I brought him some sweatpants and jeans to slip right into underneath wear my ass, but I didn't have to put on a layer.
