Review on ๐Ÿšด FSA Omega Compact Road Handlebar: Optimal Comfort and Control for Road Cycling by Michael Dixon

Great bars - sizing info

This is the second set of these bars I've ordered. They have a short reach and drop with a smooth curve somewhere between an "ergonomic" shape (whatever that is) and a classic fixed radius turn descent. I find them more comfortable as I get older and they place the brakes/shifters where the levers are easier to reach, especially with Campagnolo levers (which have no shims available). My height is 5 feet 7 inches. One thing to keep in mind when sizing these rods is that they are measured center to center but at the bottom of the drop. Drops stick out very easily, which is not visually noticeable. However, at the top of the drop curve, where the brake levers are attached, the width is narrower. The 44cm handlebar I just ordered is actually about 41.5cm long where the brake levers are mounted. When you get out of the saddle, it makes a significant difference. Previous bars I've ordered were 42cm, which was right at the ends of the bars, but more like 39.5cm at the brake levers, which doesn't feel as stable out of the saddle.
