I have to say. Perfect idea and it works great. I even used it on the front door. I folded the two magnets in half so they could slide out further to connect to another magnet. I would recommend that you use double stick tape to install the magnets first. While they are being glued to the body and doors, drill a pilot hole while the magnet sticks to the double-sided tape. Next, remove them. Apply a small amount of silicone to each hole. I used a mount for my screws. The screws I used only penetrated the fiberglass a little over 2/8" so they didn't go through. Take extra care when drilling pilot holes. I wouldn't use a hammer drill to screw them in. All the strength of your hand .Do not overtighten when screwing into fiberglass.
