I was afraid it wouldn't fit but the hood over the dash was perfect! Also, it puts the phone right in my line of sight without blocking it. Yes, I am careful and open it with both hands to lock it. Yes, I gently open the width to fit my phone. I accidentally pulled it too far once, but when both sides came out I found they weren't broken so I could slide them back in and snap them in place (one in the back and one in the front and they would stay). Treat it with respect like plastic things and it will hold up just fine.
