This works great for what it's supposed to do: catch cat litter. So why 4 stars? The item must be larger. This matches one of our cat bowls because the pan is positioned in such a way (it's a closed pot facing the corner. The cats don't mind) that the cats don't have much room to get out, so they *have* to step on it Matte and yes it's great for catching junk. For an open litter box where the cat can come out from both sides, this mat should be much bigger or bought more expensive. The material it's made of is excellent - the only issue is the size. It's also nice that it's in the shape of a paw; However, this slightly reduces the amount of material to collect. And every little thing helps with garbage collection. Despite these issues, the material does its job flawlessly, so I would recommend it. Neutral color is good too.
