Newcomer? You probably don't "need" a better quality 3D printer (i.e. you probably don't "need" one at all). Claimed accuracy is 0.1mm, which is good enough for most applications, but in reality it's probably closer to 0.5mm. which again is probably good enough for most people. The only reason I'm talking about it is because it seems like you have to spend a lot of money to get better. For a beginner, don't do this. That's very good, but when you're dealing with tight tolerances, you need something better than this printer. I may get a "better" printer in the future to do finer detail, but I'll be leaving that one too. because it is so easy to use. It takes some care to keep the tip clean, so I guess a printer with more precision will need more maintenance. Tip #1: He's not perfect. You get pieces of plastic where you don't need them. I haven't figured out how to avoid it, but I just smack it with a razor or sand it down. never mind Tip number 2. You can't lift plastic in the air. ie if you want to do something that fills the gap, read about using "supports". Tip #3 - Tinkercad is great. Tip #4 - I've found that when I use the included ribbon (black sheet) on the table the plastic gets stuck there so quickly I had to poke a razor blade in to get it out. It really hurts (and is dangerous) because razor blade holders place the blade at too great an angle for it to slip under the plastic, so you end up using a bare blade. So. I use blue masking tape for printing - it seems easier to break off and I don't have to worry about tearing it. Tip #5 - I bought this to make custom mounting brackets for electronic sensors and actuators. So far I don't need to do more than half of the build area of this machine. So I wouldn't spend any more money than that.
