It's hard to say what's wrong with the fit, but it just didn't fit me. I ordered size XL. I have a 31" waist and 44" hips. It fit well enough, although the waist was a little big, and it hugged my hips more than I wanted. If it had a bit more highlights I think it would look better and I would have kept it. This can be flattering if you have a straight, slimmer body, but not good for a curvy body. I considered attaching/hemming it but the front of the buttons felt very flimsy and flimsy so the quality wasn't worth it.
