There is one star because this scale is simply not accurate. Not even a little bit. And its only function is to weigh things accurately, so technically it should get zero stars. I note that I will add enough to know that the scale should change but the reading does not. When I shake the measuring cup, sometimes it changes, sometimes not at all; If I remove it, leave it untared, and put it back on the scale, I usually get a completely different reading. This is a problem when measuring caustic chemicals, which must be extremely accurate. Don't pay more for this scale but I wouldn't buy it again and encourage you to do the same if you're really a calorie/macro watcher or need real accuracy. It will not. There's also a narrow angle at which the screen is readable. For example, if you move under the edge of the bowl being measured, which darkens the screen, the digital display becomes colorful and completely illegible. Everything around the scale works pretty bad.
