A common disadvantage of all other manufacturers of "waterproof" USB devices is that they are only waterproof when the lid is closed and no USB cable is connected to it. Otherwise, rain or splashing water can get into the open USB ports. The USB cable connectors are dry connectors and should not be submerged in water. ALL devices claiming to be waterproof are not used. This requires a protective cover that wraps around the USB cable(s) during insertion so that it fits snugly against the ribs on the connector body. Otherwise it works well, is easy to install and should be connected to the built in fuse if your SAE connector isn't already a fuse.
