The orange sliding element tends to pop out

This test of the CANARY rotary cutter with adjustable long blade. I bought it on January 26th 2017 and use it almost daily and so far it's holding up well, but that's only if you're careful not to lose the orange slider and that part is the weak point of this article. Pros: The serrated blade cuts very well and requires a few extra cuts to get through very stiff/thick cardboard. In addition, they can be easily operated with one hand. Cons: The orange slider has a locking mechanism, and when the blade is retracted, the orange element at the very end is an internal groove. There is no mechanism to secure it. So if you move it one step further, it falls out. The orange part has two parts because the smaller part blocks the blade. I recently dropped the lock and it broke. I wish the design was safer in that regard. There is another version with a round handle for blocking. I'll resort to this now because the round handle makes the blade less compact, while the above version without the protrusions can slip into your side pocket. This is a great box cutter. otherwise and highly recommended. I'd like to see a version where the blade automatically locks when you push it out and retracts when you push the button, similar to the tape measure used by carpenters. There is another version with a round handle for blocking. I'll resort to it now because the round handle makes the blade less compact, while the version discussed above without the ribs can slip into your side pocket.
